Project Management
Managing a localization or translation project means to evaluate, budget, schedule, monitor and co-ordinate all the required resources to carry out the tasks involved.
A project manager supervises the translation, testing, engineering and quality assurance tasks.
A localization or translation project often calls for other linguistic tasks. Based on my technical and linguistic skills, I can carry out those tasks for European Spanish. These additional linguistic tasks include but are not limited to:
- Linguistic support to marketing, management, engineering or development teams
- Glossary creation
- Translation Memory creation and maintenance
- Madcap Flare Single-source Authoring content
- Style guides
In localization projects requiring multiple language versions, the advantage of having a single resource performing tasks requiring linguistic and technical expertise in a certain target language, known as pilot language, is applying the results and process to the rest of target languages, avoiding duplicated efforts.
